The theme of the video challenge 2012: What does Europe mean to you? Zinnekes, if Europe was a word' is an original stop-motion video created by a team of 4 young Europeans, coming from different European countries. While sharing their interests and backgrounds they realized that they also have shared values and opinions. As they where meeting each other in a Brussels' pub in January 2012, someone mentioned the video contest, raising the question to the group of friends: "What does Europe mean to us?" And this got the ball rolling for this video entry... 'Zinnekes, if Europe was a word'gives the floor to the inhabitants of Brussels, locally known as 'Zinnekes'. It asks young and old people"What does Europe mean to you?" and builds on the diversity of their origins and destinies. All this makes for a very colorful result indeed. 'Zinnekes, if Europe was a word' shows a selection of people that we met in the street who agreed to share their views and opinions on Europe and the EU. After a short conversation we also asked each of them to choose one key word or short phrase that encapsulated the essence of their views of Europe. These snapshots highlighting Europe's values, ideas and key achievements provided the basis for our juxtaposed short-film project.
