A lot of Christians will claim people who got saved didn't really get saved unless they get baptized and start coming to church. The reason why a lot of people say this is because they aren't out winning souls so they want to throw a wet blanket on the people who are actually winning the souls.

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
Most people use this verse to refer to our flesh but clearly this is talking about our spirit. If this was talking about our flesh then we would be a perfect person after we got saved.
1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
Clearly 2 Cor. 5:17 is not talking about our flesh. When a person gets saved nothing changes. Absolutely nothing. They have a new spirit but there flesh is still the exact same. A person who liked to drink right before they got saved still likes to drink. Our flesh is still the exact same. If we feed the spirit as opposed to the flesh then we will start to weaken the flesh & become a better christian.

When a person gets saved they may not want to start going to church or get baptized. That doesn't mean they aren't saved. The Bible clearly says in Acts 16:30-31 "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
A person does not have to start going to church to be saved or prove they are saved.
