I'm candling a cockatiel egg - holding a small flashlight directly against the shell to see the shadows inside - and the baby is obviously moving around quite a bit in there! This egg is due to hatch within the next 24-48 hours. The hissing and scuttling sounds you hear is the mama bird telling me she wants my hand OUT of her nest! If you listen carefully, you can hear the baby peeping.
