Around 10 military trucks and several Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) were blocking approaches Friday to Sevastopol International Airport, after taking up their positions Thursday evening. The armed men are wearing camouflage, but do not sport identification as to what military force, if any, they might belong to. One of the armed men had an armband with the Ukrainian political party 'Russian Bloc' written upon it.

The Rada appointed Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov acknowledged the situation on his Facebook page, reporting that the airport is closed for the time being. The Russian Black Sea Fleet press service has denied the gunmen blocking the airport are from the Russian military.
