The summer of 2007 was exceptionally dry for the entire region. A recent visit to Cincinnati's closest large lake revealed water levels to be 3 - 4 feet below normal levels. The shallow water made walking the perimeter of the lake possible, whereas before it was difficult, if not impossible. Unfortunately, patrons visiting the park use it as a dump, leaving behind beer & soda cans lying around.
