19-year-old sensation Saul El Canelo Alvarez (30-0-1, 22 KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico won a 12 round unanimous decision over tough Lanardo Tyner (21-3, 13 KOs) of Detroit, Michigan to retain his NABF welterweight title before a sold out crowd at el Meson de los Deportes in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. Next for Alvarez will be to invade the US market and fight for a world title. The show was presented by Canelos promoter Tuticoo Zabala, Jr, of All Star Boxing, Inc in association with Ricardo Maldonado Jr. Producciones Deportivas and the Goverment of Tepic.
