The People’s National Party Youth Organisation (PNPYO) on Wednesday expressed outrage about Jamaica's murder rate, calling for Montague to be replaced “with a capable and effective” individual.

On the crime scene, a Christmas Day massacre in St James left a woman and three men dead, while a teenage girl was shot and injured during the attack.

On Wednesday a gunman was cut down by lawmen at the Hunts Bay Police Station in St Andrew, when he attempted a brazen daylight murder at the station.
