How to Crochet a Flower for Beginners Video Tutorial and Pattern. Learn to make a Crochet Flower - Small and Large Flower pattern below.
Written Instructions for Small Crochet Flower:
Small Flower Measurements: 1.5 inches x 1.5 inches/4cm x 4cm
Ch 5, join with a sl st into the 1st ch to form a ring.
As you make the first round be sure to crochet in the end yarn or if you like you could thread it through the ring with a wool needle later on when you have finished the crochet flowers.
Rnd 1: ch 1, (1 sc into ring, ch 4) 7 times, sl st into 1st sc.
Finish off. If you want the center of your flower even smaller then pull on the yarn tail to tighten it.
Written Instructions for Large Crochet Flower
ch 5, join with a sl st into the 1st ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: ch 1, (1 sc into ring, ch 6) 10 times, sl st into 1st sc.
Weave in yarn tails with a yarn needle into the back center of the flower or use the yarn tails to attach to another crochet project.
Note: If you want an even bigger crochet flower then just keep doing more of the stitches in the (brackets) above until you have the desired size.
To get a fuller looking flower effect you can place the smaller flower over the larger flower and sew them onto your crochet project with your yarn needle. Or you could sew them on separately as individual flowers. I like them much better when these flowers are placed over the top of each other. They just look more 'real' and fuller when done this way.
Or if you want an even fuller looking flower make one large crochet flower and add a couple of smaller crochet flowers on top of it. You can even sew a button onto the middle of the flower.
Play around with it and see what best suits you according to which project you are going to add the crochet flowers to.
I just find that if your crochet project is looking a little dull or flat then these small and large crochet flowers can spice your project up and they only take minutes to make!
