This is the first real laps ridden on my home made front wheel drive, short wheel base, low racer recumbent. It has been built using blue extruded polystyrene insulation board sandwiched between 1/8" plywood. Some carbon and glass fiber reinforcement has been introduced to the nose section to increase rigidity and strength in this section. It is comfortable to ride, though visibility is hampered due to the low reclined position. Mirrors will probably be required. It still feels a little twitchy at this stage, but with time in the saddle should become more confident.
