2006 (Feanol Festival Concert)

ABOUT this song:
"The Living Tree" was written by Catherine Feeney and Nikki Lamborn from Never The Bride, who recorded the song for their 2002 album Surprise. It was a Top 40 hit for Dame Shirley Bassey in 2007. Nikki Lamborn and Catherine Feeney personally requested Bassey to record the song; they had left a copy of their recording at her gym in Monaco with a note saying they knew it was a song for her.

LYRICS:
Let me breathe
'Cause I'm drowning in your shadow
Let me leave
Respect me, do not follow me
Believe
I can make my own tomorrow
Let me breathe

Does it make
You feel good 'cause you own me?
Does it take
Your puppet strings to hold me?
How I ache
As you're trying to control me
Let me breathe

[Refrain]
Let me dance

'Til my shoes cry
Let me laugh
Let me be

Let me dance
Let me choose my life
Let me climb the living tree

[Verse 2]
Picture this
When you wake up in the morning
And I kiss
Your sorry ass goodbye
What would I miss?
There's nothing I can think of
As I leave

[Refrain]

[Guitar solo]

[Refrain]

Let me climb......
The living tree

ABOUT this song:
"The Lady Is a Tramp" is a show tune from the 1937 Rodgers and Hart musical Babes In Arms. This song is a sophisticated and witty spoof of New York high society and its strict etiquette (the first line of the verse is significant: "I get too hungry for dinner at eight..."). It has become a classic song in the pop standards/vocal genre. Several stars have recorded their own renditions. It was recorded by Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald in 1950s and Shirley Bassey in the 1960s, becoming a signature song for each of them.

LYRICS:
I've wined and dined on mulligan stew
on "Live at Talk of the Town" inserted:
I have, I have
And never wished for turkey
I've hitched and hiked and drifted to
From Maine to Alberquque
Alas I missed the beaux arts ball
And what is twice as sad
I was never at a party
Where they honoured Noel Coward
on "Live at Talk of the Town":
I was never at Barbra Streisands party - aaah
And that make me bloody mad
a ...(??) funny girl
on "At The Pigalle":
Alas I'm always known as being in the pie(??)
I was never at Alma Cogans party
A shame
When she honoured Ringo Starr
on "The Birthday Concert" & video "An Audience With Shirley Bassey":
I was never at Hugh Grants party
When he honoured the great divide - ouh
His social circles move to fast for me
My hobohemia is the place to be
I get too hungry for dinner at eight
I love the theatre but never come late
I never bother with people I hate
That's why this lady is a tramp

I don't like crap games with barons and earls
Won't go to Harlem in ermine and pearls
Won't dish the dirt with the rest of those girls
That's why this lady is a tramp

I like the free fresh wind in my hair
Life without care
I'm broke... that's oke
Hate California, it's cold and it's damp
That's why this lady is a tramp

I like the free fresh wind in my hair

on "Live at Talk of the Town": I like the free fresh wind in my wig
Life without care
I'm broke... that's oke
Hate California, it's cold and it's damp
That's why this lady is a tramp
And I love it
Yes, I'm a tramp, and I love it
And I wish that you will come in my way yeah
I wish that you will come in my way yeah
I wish that you will come in my way
Yes, I'm a lady

But a tramp
