A man accused of killing his wife last week has his first appearance in Buncombe County District Court Tuesday morning.Last Friday, deputies arrested Mack Chason Glisson in McDowell County after a two day manhunt.Investigators say he shot and killed Crystal Glisson in their home while the couple's two children slept in a nearby room. The children discovered her body hours later and called police. Chason's mother told News 13, her son is remorseful about his wife's killing. In fact she says her son doesn't really know what happened, but she seemed to indicate the family knows Chason is responsible for Crystal's death, but offered this explanation.Nancy Glisson, Mack Glisson's mother, he was diagnosed with bipolar PTSD and was on medication and went off it.Crystal's family declined to go on camera, they did give us a written statement:
The family of Crystal wishes to express their thanks to family, friends and the Buncombe County community in their tremendous support during this tragic time. Crystal was a beautiful and loving mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece and friend. Her children meant everything to her. Out primary concerns are to make sure of the well-being of the children. We shall work to make sure her legacy continues. The family trusts the court system to do its job and hopes no leniency is given in this case. We miss her so.
