Because this song was - and still is - my favorite rock Christmas song ever, I was so elated back in Dec. 1986 when I heard David Letterman say "tomorrow night's guests include...Darlene Love to sing Christmas Baby Please Come Home". I MADE SURE TO record the show and here it is - along with the famous Budweiser Spuds Mackenzie commercial!!! This was the first time Love ever sang this beautiful song on "Late Night With David Letterman" - you could tell she was psyched and thrilled from the moment she hit the stage - and it's become a Christmas tradition on the show ever since!!! ENJOY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! BE HAPPY - BE SAFE - PRAISE GOD AND LOVE EACH OTHER!!!

Paul Shaffer and The World's Most Dangerous Band accompanied Love that night. The members: Paul Shaffer on keyboards, Will Lee on bass guitar and vocals, Sid McGinnis on guitar and Anton Fig on drums and percussion.
