Efforts have picked up pace to integrate Taliban in the political set up after the recent London conference on Afghanistan. President Hamid Karzai's is visiting Saudi Arabia to garner support of the Saudis in his efforts. Saudi Arabia was one of the three countries which recognized Taliban government in the 90s. In an interview with Voice of America, New America Foundation's Brian Fishman, a counter-terrorism expert, said Saudi Arabia can help the United States and the international community in bringing peace to Afghanistan. Fishman also talks about the change in US strategy and its implications for Pak-US relations. He says its difficult to say whether President Karzai has the capacity to isolate some Taliban factions from Al-Qaeda and include them into the political set-up. He says Pakistan's support is crucial, in the reconciliation process.
