RUSSELL CALKINS IS THE VERY FIRST WORLD CHAMPION SKY SURFING DEMO TITLE HOLDER IN HISTORY 1992. ESPN SHOW SKYBLAZING AIRED IN 1993, AND WAS THE VERY FIRST WORLD CHAMPION EVENT FOR SKY SURFING. IT WAS HOSTED BY DON SWAYZE. BONUS BLOOPER AT THE END OF THIS FOOTAGE, IS JOHN PETERS, A FRIEND THAT MADE A CRASH LANDING ON A DEMO JUMP FOR A GM COMMERCIAL. Song Sky Surfer was paid for 100% by me and for me by the late great Kent Morrill 1991 Russell Calkins is also the intro Sky Surfer ESPN's Max Out which was a TV show by ESPN that was first launched in 1993. ESPN created the show for the launch of ESPN2, which was targeted to younger demographics with a focus on nontraditional sports. The show focused on showing the people involved in extreme sports, including dirt-skiing and bungee-jumping. To kick off the show, ESPN partnered with Bret Michaels of Poison where the crew filmed him motocross racing on his personal track at his home in Malibu.
