This message portrays the Virgin Mary as she actually was. She knew she needed a Savior (Luke 2:46,47) She went to the Temple after the birth of Christ to make the sin offering required under the Law, (Luke2:21-24). She did not bodily ascend to Heaven, as she was made of “flesh and blood” and just as human as any other Jewish mother. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. (1 Corinthians 15:50) God says that we are not to pray to her as we only have one Mediator, and that is Christ (1 Timothy 2:5)
If we need to have help from God, we must heed Mary’s advice found in the Second Chapter of John, “His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. (V.5) God says that “ …we have not an high priest (Christ is our High Priest) which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. (15) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:15-16)
I believe that Mary would also say to us today, “I stood and watched while Christ, the Dear One whom I was honored to carry in this blessed womb, poured out his blood for the sin of mankind. Oh, I would that everyone would believe what he said to believe!
“ Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? (28) Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent (Me, Jesus Christ).” (John 6:28-29)
