Soutadka mahaganapathi temple is one of the prominent temples of Dakshina Kannada district. Situated in Belthangady taluk, soutadka is small village with lush greenery and surrounded by nature. One can see the western ghats from here. The main attraction of temple is that it has no permanent structure built for it. The temple is open house. The past incidents say that even though efforts were made to construct permanent roof and shelter for temple, all of them went in vain. They used to either collapse or meet with an obstacle. It seems that Lord Vinayaka loves nature and does not want any protection. Due to this, nowadays no efforts are wasted in constructing shelter or roof for deity. The temple became famous after fulfilment of many of devotee's wishes. One can see too many cows and monkeys here. Be watchful about monkeys. They snatch anything eatable items visible to them. The cows are also adamant but do not trouble anyone. The appa prasada and avalakki panchakajjaya is very tasty here. Especially appa prasada made from pure ghee and one will be tempted to eat entire packet.

The video is dedicated to Lord Vinayaka on the eve of Ganesha Chaturthi
