**IF you wanna skip to the song it starts around 1:45. WE EXPECTED MORE VIDEO RESPONSES FROM YOU, METS.
This song was written at the end of the 2007 season after the Mets had completed their emabarrassing fall from the top of the NL east. We were sad that the Braves weren't able to get in the playoffs but it was worth it to see the Mets choke in an "historically colossal" way. We decided not to post it then, but have since changed our minds since the arrival of the Kuff and the Buttheads (the group that wishes they were us). Plus, its the perfect time to post it after yesterday's doubleheader sweep over the rival New York Mets!
Lyrics: For Ridicule from Mets as tasteless as raisins Here's our reply to the so-called "Amazin's" At the end of July we picked up Mark T We wrote him a song hoping for history We were 4 1/2 back, we made an attack But our pitching was lackin' while our bats were a'crackin'
All hope seemed lost, around Sept. 12 With a 7 game lead the Mets were of good health But 5-12 is a record to note Call 911 something's caught in their throat Chorus: Someone do the heimlich cuz the Mets have chocked Deserving of all the fun we've poked You know what they say about misery, it loves company, especially in a rivalry
As sad as it is that the Braves aren't in Only one thing could call for a grin That the Mets are also out, the Phils won the bout New York KOed themselves and now have reason to pout (BOO HOO)
It's the end of the season for the both of us So in the down time as rivals let's fuss So I'll pelt below the belt, and kick you while you're down Apparently the Yankees still own your town
Now the tension's so tight it could probably cut bread We got called out by a self-proclaimed butthead You may not believe us but we're really not mean They've just been askin' for it ever since they came on the scene
