Beetroot is also known as the table beet, garden beet, red beet or informally simply as beet.
Beetroot is a rich source of potent antioxidants and nutrients, including magnesium, sodium, potassium and vitamin C, and betaine, which is important for cardiovascular health.
Beet Root -- 2 Nos
Sambar Onion(small) -8 nos
Red Chillies -- 2 Nos
Curry leaves -- few
Oil -- 2 tablespoon
Mustard -- 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin seeds powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Coconut gratings -- 1/2 bowl
Salt -- 1 teaspoon (As needed)
1.Wash and peel the skin of beetroot.After that grate the Beet Root.keep it aside.
2.Chop the onion finely.
3.In a kadai put the oil and when it is hot add mustard.
4.When it pops up,add the chopped onion and curry leaves and fry till onion turns transparent.
5.Now add the grated beet root and mix well. Cover it with lid and Keep the flame in low .No need to add extra water.You can sprinkle little water in between to avoid it from burning.
6.Add salt and cumin seeds powder.
7.Once it is cooked, Sprinkle grated coconut, mix it well and switch off the stove
