Daniel Kleve, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln student attended the Charlottesville, Va August 12, 2017 "Unite the Right" rally that turned deadly later in the day when James Fields supposedly drove his Dodge Charger into a crowd of anti-racist counter-protesters. In the morning melee Daniel was seen in photos raising his flashlight to strike a person being kicked to the ground. Dan was profiled by the Anti-Defamation League before the rally as a known hate group leader.

On January 23rd, Daniel joined a video chat with other young racists to brag about their accomplishments. Dan talked about his deep desire to engage in racist violence. He says "I want to be violent. Trust me. Really violent." He also tells the story about how he wanted to kill a Nigerian coworker. https://youtu.be/5KloPaYYlDk
