The construction of UW-Eau Claire's new W.R. Davies Student Center began March 7, 2011, and is set to be completed in summer 2012. This time lapse video shows progress on the project from the start of construction through Sept. 13, 2011. The $48.8 million new student center will replace the 51-year-old Davies University Center, which will be deconstructed. The site of the existing Davies Center will be redeveloped as green space. The approximately 170,000-square-foot new student center is being funded through segregated fees, which are paid by students. No tax dollars will be involved in the development of the building.
