Erhu cover of 周杰倫 Jay Chou's song 菊花台 "Chrysanthemum Terrace", from the soundtrack of the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower" and his EP of the same name and album "Still Fantasy".

NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED. This song doesn't belong to me.

Had been practicing a repertoire of several songs for a gig I had last Saturday, and this was easily my favourite out of the whole batch for some reason. Maybe something to do with the fact that I like to play the slow, slightly depressing/emotional songs. In any case, I was going to do a recording of this song while doing some last-minute practice (shall I add, with me all dressed up and ready to perform) but I didn't get around to taking my camera out to actually record. But it's still on my mind to record it so here it is.

I must admit I think this song would sound so much more gorgeous with a 中胡 (That's the bigger, viola-version to the erhu's 'violin'), because it's timbre is much more mellow and has almost that cello feel to it, but with that flair of Asian-sounding music. I don't know how to play it though (It's tuned differently, and I can't get used to it, unfortunately). So maybe in the near future there will be a collab between me and Huisun on the 中胡 for this same song. =P

In any case...Enjoy :)
