A quick test render of something I've been working on recently. This is the Associated-Rediffusion "Mitch" clock, modelled entirely in Blender 2.67b and rendered using cycles. This is an SD render at quite a low quality (just 50 samples if you know Blender cycles) but it still took my PC most of the morning to render!
The model was done entirely using "box-modelling", using either cubes or low poly cylinders as my starting objects. I then simply used loop cut and extrusion to create the shapes of the lion and Tudor dragon.
The graphics on the clock were created in Inkscape and are CG texture mapped onto the clock rather than imported as curves as this looked best. Obviously I'll render this out at full quality and greater length later, but as it's in the high 30s outside I'm taking pity on my poor PC for now!
