Family Hit By Recession Move On To A Narrowboat

SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/Oc61Hj

A CASH-STRAPPED family has taken downsizing to the extreme -- by swapping their four-bedroom house for life on a narrow boat. Debra and Duncan Lawrence, both 41, saved themselves a staggering £8,000 a year by selling up their £249,000 home and moving onto the 65ft barge, worth £80,000, on the canals of Stratford-upon-Avon. And the couple, who have two children Jake, 7, and Phoebe, 12, say it's lifted a huge weight off of their shoulders. Not only can they afford to pay the bills now, they can also spend more family time together because they don't have to work so hard to earn a decent living.

Videographer / Director: John Robertson
Producer: Harriet Hernando
Editor: Kyle Waters
