Thirty years ago, when Oakdale Rotary Club members were racking their brains to come up with an idea for an annual fundraiser, they had no idea how popular this "calf-fry" would become. Flash forward to 2011, when indulging in bull testicles is a sell out event. Now known as the Testicle Festival, this event continues to receive press. Late night comedians, Jay Leno and David Letterman have had fun with it and so has Saturday Night Live. Last year, associated press picked up the release and news of this event that specialized in this tasty treat went global. "The Testicle Festival was the #4 most read story on yahoo.com, said Cowboy Museum Executive Director Christie Camarillo. So it's no surprise that American Cowboy Magazine featured The Oakdale Testicle Festival, held on the last Monday in March, is one of the top 101 events to attend in the West. Yep, right up there with the Bishop Mule Days and the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival. "It's created a buzz and making the phones ring," said Camarillo. Don't miss out! You'll Have a Ball!


Kevin Fox is the 2010 winner of the oldest and largest Food Film Festival in California.The five and a half minute film produced by the Oakdale Cowboy Museum is a brief look behind the scenes of The Annual Oakdale Testicle Festival. The film took top honors at the 2010 Modesto Reel Food Film Festival on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the historic State Theatre in Modesto, California. Film Festival organizers polled the audience for the Audience Favorite Award. The festival was sponsored by the California Poultry Federation, The Modesto Art Museum, The Modesto Film Socity and The State Theatre.
