James Kalm has been following the painting of Leonard (Lenny) Reibstein for several years. As a member of the seminal Bushwick gallery, English Kills, Lenny has participated in establishing a vibrant and diverse community of young artists and particularly painters within this burgeoning neighborhood . With this show, he presents the culmination of the last year's work exposing his inquirer into a comingling of grotesque imagery and exuberant paint handling. During this walkthrough tour the artists discusses his practice and its historical influences. A musical introduction by "Super Bad Brad" (AKA Brad Prowly) is provided with an unrehearsed rousting by the cops during a soulful rendition of the Rolling Stones classic "Sympathy for the Devil"
