From Melbourne's most exciting independent theatre company, the hilarious Delectable Shelter is a black comedy about white terror with a "Bach vs 1980s" soundtrack.
Originally produced by The Hayloft Project and Theatre Works, where it premiered as part of the 2011 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the touring production will be co-produced with Critical Stages. Writer and director Benedict Hardie takes us into an underground bunker deep within the earth, where five wealthy westerners plan a utopian society on a 350-year mission of saving - and repopulating - the planet. Meanwhile, in the future, a classical choir sings 1980s love songs. Is there any hope for the human race?
