From the 6th to the 10th of February 2013, around 30 young European professionals and academics working on citizenship, participation, and democracy, met in Paris to come up with strategies for a more democratic and participative Europe.
These young people shared their projects, passions, experiences and best practices in a highly participatory event organized within the framework of the "Democratic community of practice" network launched in Berlin in 2011 (http://citizensforeurope.org/projects... ) and further developed in Copenhagen and Prague in 2012.
Part of the four-day event was dedicated to the co-designing of an action in the public space aiming to interact with citizens on participation in Europe, citizenship and European identity. The final action they developed together was linked to the travelling exhibition "The United States of Europe" (http://www.go-use.eu/en) and was implemented on the 9th of February in Gare du Nord train station.

This meeting in Paris, supported by the European Commission Youth in Action program (http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/youth/), brought together representatives of a wide range of European organisations: Citizens For Europe e.V., Fraternité 2020, POL-LOC, European Alternatives, Europäische Akademie Otzenhausen, EuropaNova, European Movement International, Goethe Institut, Mouvement Européen-France, NewEurope, citizensforeurope.eu, Anglo-American University, Viadrina University, Danube Foundation, GONG, DeurschPlus, Wethecity, wikiconstitution.eu...
