Dan Laffoley with IUCN speaks about the genesis of the Protect Planet Ocean consumer contributed website, a backend for the Marine Protected Areas layer in Google Earth, which has transformed access to Marine Protected Area information, making it available to anyone, taking it out of paper in a basement. Dan spoke in the Ocean Storytelling with Google Earth Panel at the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2012 in Jeju, Korea along with Mission Blue's Sylvia Earle, National Geographic's John Francis, Google's Jenifer Foulkes, and Ed Edwards from ARKive/Wildscreen.
