Intel's impact on our regional economy and the importance of its partnership with the city, state and region cannot be overstated.
Nearly 60% of our regional exports are driven by the computer and electronics sector, much of this from Intel. Construction of Intel's D1X facility has been a significant source of jobs and economic growth. And the company's ongoing commitment to workforce training and education has put thousands of oregonians - many of them straight out of local training programs - to work at well-paying jobs.
Most recently Intel has stepped forward to co-chair the public/private export leadership council under Greater Portland Inc, with the goal of implementing the greater portland metro export initiative over the coming years.
