Sorry about the dodgy soundtrack, it's the TV in the background. I've just been given this Apple Power Mac G5 which I've been told was in perfect working order, but now I've got it at home it will not fire up. When I plug in the mains power cable I hear 2 quick clicks. When I press the power button, I hear 2 quick clicks and the power light comes on for as long as I hold in the power button, there's a very quick single flash of a red LED next to the top 4 RAM slots, and all the fans twitch once but don't spin up. I don't get the clicks every time I press the button, if I press several times in quick succession it will do it the first time but then will not do it again until 3 or 4 seconds have passed. There are no beeps, no bong, no disk activity, no video output, no other noises, smells etc. I have reseated all the RAM, have unseated and reseated the wireless card, have pressed the reset button inside near the RAM, have removed and tested and reinserted the battery, have tried it with and without the HDD attached and have checked all power connectors etc. Has anybody come across this problem before??? Please comment if you can help. Thank you.
