Godzilla will be smashing his way into Comic-Con and we have the details!
According to Latino Review, Legendary Pictures is planning to bring one of the biggest...and we mean biggest...stars on the planet to this year's Comic-Con. In addition to footage of Guillermo del Toro's giant robots versus aliens sci-fi epic Pacific Rim, Legendary will also be showcasing their planned Godzilla movie in Hall H on Saturday, July 14th.
It's not clear what exactly will be shown, but considering Max Borenstein is currently working on rewrites to Dark Knight writer David S. Goyer's script and the film has no cast currently set, perhaps a test reel of a CGI Godzilla? Unless of course they want to follow the logic of 1998's Godzilla from director Roland Emmerich and not show Godzilla until just before the film's release, but we all know how well that film turned out.
Gareth Edwards, the director of 2010's Monsters is set to helm the film with a 2014 release date currently eyed. This won't be the first time Legendary brings Godzilla to Comic-Con. They released concept art and even handed out t-shirts with the design on it to attendees when they announced the film back in 2010. We're expecting them to top that this year if they want fans to get excited for the film. What do you think they should do to get people pumped for the big lizard?
