February 5, 2012. A very gruesome crime scene would develop early Sunday afternoon in Graham, WA. What many called in as a fully involved house fire that may have been a meth lab would become a place where Josh Powell, the person in interest in the disappearance of Susan Powell from West Valley, Utah, murdered his two sons 5 and 7 years old, while he committed suicide.
A case worker had brought the young boys to the home for a supervised visit. Running to the front door and let in, Josh slammed the door shut on the case worker and lit the house on fire which he had premeditated, soaking the interior with gasoline and a full 5 gallon can.
Autopsy reports just released show the two boys died of carbon monoxide poisoning, and that there were also axe or hatchet cuts made on their necks by Josh.
The fire quickly devoured the structure. A very sad and difficult story to cover. I do believe the actions by Josh yesterday do confirm that he killed Susan. This was a very evil and selfish act for a father to commit.
