Don The Beachcomber created the first-ever 'Tiki Bar' (Hollywood; 1933) and it grew into an international phenomenon. His Hawai'i decades were the essence of why America's 'island colony' became the number-one tourist destination in the world. Phoebe Beach was his EOL (end of life) wife, 11 years together. She is the essence of what made 'Donn Beach' a legend during and post his demise at age 82 in 1989. This is Phoebe, now a resident of her home country New Zealand, living the "Beachcomber legend" in front of Honolulu television cameras. "Scrounging the Islands with the Legendary Don The Beachcomber" (Amazon.com) is one of several fascinating books Phoebe created with her post-Don husband Arnold Bitner (enter his name when searching Donn Beach books).
