On June 22, 2012, the final day of the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development negotiations, Rabbi Awraham Soetendorp, Earth Charter Commissioner, President of Green Cross Netherlands and the Jacob Soetendorp Institute for Human Values, and Founder of The Feather Project, shared his comments and observations regarding the outcome of the most historic conference in the history of the UN. Twenty years ago, the 1992 Earth Summit took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and twenty years later, in 2012, more than 50,000 participants gathered in Rio to address sustainable development and steps to achieve "the future we want."
