Garret Diulio, Mechatronics Engineer, from WRW Engineering describes the Traction Controlled Inverted Pendulum with Friction Drive. QuickTrak, a modular linear guide from Bishop-Wisecarver, is used for the linear axis of the inverted pendulum. NI Single Board RIO coupled with the SoftMotion module was used for slip detection of the friction drive wheel and motion control for balancing the pendulum.
