I was trying to find a song or something in their live show at this period that summed up to me what a great experience a flaming lips show was then. "The Process" has Bubbles(important)and a spacey interlude with Ronald Jones doing his magic with Wayne at the helm. The song just before this one was One million Billionth of a millisecond and that rocked so hard but The Process was a rarely played instrumental song they did on one occasion when I saw them.I think it ended up on a B-side. This was in 1993, I had just seen them play this particular set in Grand Rapids,Michigan at the now defunct Reptile House. My friends amped me up about this one and it was even better than I remembered. And very loud. They encored with Oh my pregnant head/labia in the sunlight.
This was one of my first experiences watching a flaming Lips trip. This seemed like the one that summed up the whole thing.loud, pretty, spaced out, bombastic.
I like where the Lips were, what they were doing and what they have become.
