FAQ:

Q. What do I do if it gets stuck at "Done Downloading?
A. Try downloading again (on a different computer if possible). If it still doesn't work, restart your internet browser and try again. Try disabling your anti-virus program if it still doesn't work. The links all work, I've tried them myself.

Q. Can't delete the 'minecraft.jar' file.
A. Make sure you have Admin rights on your computer (if you don't know how to do this, google it).

Q. You get stuck on "Done Loading" or "Updating Minecraft" or have a blank screen when loading the game after the downgrade.
A. Try backing up your world saves & texture packs, completely reinstalling Minecraft and then do the downgrade again.

Q. You're still on the newest version of Minecraft.
A. When logging into Minecraft, click on 'not now' when it prompts you to update. If you're still on the wrong version, try the whole downgrade process again.
