That which has convinced many people that there is a god simply is not what would convince me. I need scientific evidence, the kind I can actually study, the kind that I can verify.
And trying to convince me that my standards are too strict will not change my mind on this one. I apply these standards to EVERY claim of existence when that which is being claimed is mind-external; god is not an exception...and won't be.
If you god is real and can affect the universe in an objective, empirical, mind-external way, then he, she, it, or they should be provable in an objective, empirical, mind-external way. And if you cannot meet those standards, then I will not believe; if you want to convince me god is real, you'll have to meet these standards or your proof will fail. Period.
