Every year, whales migrated in winter from cold Antarctican water to warmer water in Queensland on the Australian east coast around June to July and return to Antarctica in summer to feed on krill in Antarctic. Sydney is on the migration path and whales can be spotted. The number of humpback whales increases significantly since whaling is banned more than two decades ago.
My clip on this tour unfortunately only shows a glimpse of a humpback whale. The other days were far luckier in seeing whales cruising along the boat.
