All the materials used to make beverage cartons are fully recyclable. Beverage cartons are on average made of 75% paperboard, 21% polymers and 4% aluminium. A simple, closed-loop water-based process, called re-pulping, allows the paperboard to be separated from the non-fiber layers. All the materials are a valuable raw material for new products when recycled. Beverage carton recycling has grown steadily in Europe over the last 20 years.
