OU researchers are modelling large sets of data based on water usage, transport and energy to model smart cities.

In this video, Professor Enrico Motta describes how MK:SMART, a £16 million investment in Milton Keynes, will develop smart tools which will prompt people to use resources more efficiently in Milton Keynes and provide a blueprint for the growth of cities worldwide. In this first video in a series on smart cities, the focus is on a new app to advise people when their garden needs watering.
