This demonstrates how the warning lights work and the difference between a sequential flasher system and a non-sequential system. These are the two options for the eight lamp (amber and red) flasher system. This unit is controlled by a weldon 7000 fully electronic flasher unit.
Some states require that buses have the non-sequential system, and my guess is because it is a fail safe in case the driver forgets to activate the lights. Most of the Minnesota school buses I drive have a non-sequential system.
