Fritz Weiss - jazz musician, arranger, composer, clarinetist and saxophonist, was born in Czechoslovakia in 28.09.1919, is one of the tragic stories of jewish jazz musicians during the Holocaust.
On September 28, 1944, the Jazz Orchestra of the Theresienstadt concentration camp - "The Ghetto Swingers'' - was sent to Auschwitz death camp. Fritz Weiss perished in the gas chambers. His death was on his 25th birthday..

Michael Zwerin wrote in his book swing under the Nazis :'' Our beloved and wonderfully gifted Fritz Weiss. One of the best jazz players Europe ever had.''

Almost 70 years later, saxophonist Shai Brenner, a son of a Holocaust survivor family, read the story of Weiss and establishes the commemoration project. Shai establishes a resemble swing ensemble Weiss set up in camp. The players gather the rest of the rare recordings preserved from 1940/1 and rebuild a unique and exciting repertoire.
