We caught up with librarians and literacy experts who are experimenting with story time in unusual places- in this case the laundromat. They’re working to really engage children with books.

We asked them for tips on how parents can do the same. Is there a right or wrong way to read to your child? Should you spend 20 minutes a day with a book in hand and your child by your side? What’s the best way to best way to improve a child’s vocabulary, language skills and reading comprehension?

Here is their advice on how adults and children can enjoy reading together.
