Boston University clinched the Hockey East Regular Season Title with a 3-0 shutout win over Providence College. Junior Luke Popko got the Terriers' first goal with a top-shelf wrister from the left circle that beat Friar goaltender Alex Beaudry high glove-side. In the second period, freshman Vinny Saponari took a pass from classmate Chris Connolly in front of the net, spun and fired a shot around Beaudry to extend the Terriers' lead to 2-0. With just a few seconds left in the game, Chris Higgins deposited a forehand shot behind the Providence goalie off a great pass from fellow senior Jason Lawrence, sealing BU's regular season championship on Senior Day. Freshman Grant Rollheiser got the start in goal for BU and earned his first collegiate shutout.
