Wow. Its hard looking back at this show and getting the sense of family, love, and friendship, and then looking at it now and seeing how dark, and brooding it has become. After Jonathan died, the series started to delve into that darkness, which for a while, gave a new perspective on the characters, especially Clark. I like how "Homecoming" shows that and expands it, that after Jonathan died that's when Clark's dark side sort of came out.

They had a beautiful father-son relationship. I tried to capture it as best I could in this short video, and hopefully I did a good job. Despite my feelings on the fact that once a character dies (permanently), they should stay dead, "Kent" really hit me hard. Looking at the Kent Farm, its there for a family. Its there for kids to be running around on the farm, playing in the warm sunlight. For Clark and Lois to give it up ... well let's just say its obvious they won't be having kids for a long time. The Jonathan/Clark scenes were so moving. For Clark to get the chance to help his Dad get his life back and tell him how much of an influence he had on him ... it was just soooo powerful.

(I know this has nothing to do with Chloe, but notice how he said "you didn't have powers, and you weren't destined to save the world but you were my hero." Yeah, well, see HATERS! Chloe *is* a hero to a lot of people. Maybe not you, but you can't disclude her as not being one).

Back on track. I think the CW made the wrong decision in getting rid of Annette O'Toole as a regular. She really held that sense of family on the show, something that would later get passed down to Chloe, as she was the best friend and keeping that feeling alive. But come Season Eight, the whole show turned to the "dark side."

Anyway, I hope you like this video. I tend to keep writing until the upload process finishes, so thats why some of my desciptions are soooo long. But Clark and Jonathan have an amazing father-son relationship on the show, and I wanted to attempt at vidding that and representing that to this song.
