Sermon Title: "Worship" Sermon Series: "Going Through the Motions" Scripture: 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12-19.
Hi folks, One of my favorite family pictures comes from a "Have a Prosperous New Year" card that Tina and I made one year. It's a black and white photo from our first year of marriage. Living in Mississippi, we dressed in dingy overalls, and stood in front of an old run down house with our trusty dog at our side. That year, we didn't get our Christmas cards out on time... and thought it would be a funny and appropriate way to wish friends and family "the best" for the coming year. The only problem is that I guess the look was natural (at least for me), and some of Tina's family couldn't believe that she had been subjected to such a meager existence. They say, "a picture paints a thousand words," but there are times when pictures (both mental and physical) do nothing more that promote invalid understandings and perceptions, causing us to live in a world that is off color or has no color at all. Join us this week as we put a different frame on the picture of "Worship," and look to find what's been missing.
