The U.S. Air Force uses single-ship aerial demonstration teams to exhibit the capabilities of modern high-performance aircraft and the degree of skill required to operate and maintain these aircraft. Air Combat Command has six different teams flying the A-10 Thunderbolt II, the F-15E Strike Eagle, the F-16 Falcon and the F-22 Raptor. Each year from early March to mid-November, these teams perform at air shows and aerial events all over the U.S. and even overseas. These teams are front-line ambassadors for the Air Force, showcasing American airpower, promoting outstanding community and international relations, and enhancing Air Force recruiting and retention efforts.
