An important step toward supporting teachers and ensuring that all students have access to highly effective instruction is to develop fairer and more useful measures of teacher effectiveness. Within this support system, there has to be a process in place for implementing a valid, reliable measurement system.

Please join the New Jersey Department of Education, Division of Teacher and Leader Effectiveness' Office of Governance and Leadership Development as we share in an interactive session designed to provide educational leaders with information relative to the process of implementing a fair observation system using online tools and resources designed to specifically support Danielson's Framework for Teaching.

Within this session, presenters/practitioners from NJ school districts across the state implementing these solutions will share their experiences, strategies, and best practices for a holistic approach to formative assessments, data driven decision making, rater reliability and its impact in a highly effective educational system. Research findings from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation MET Project, relevant to this work, will also be discussed

It is important for us to remember that as we move to full implementation of the teacher and principal accountability standards by 2012, we must ensure that all stakeholders participate in this journey, which is built upon a strong foundation of effective practice.
