Letitia Venter, 43 years of age, from South Africa, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. In 2009 she had a mastectomy, and 3 months later developed skin lesions on her scar. She underwent radiation, which she said had damaged her immune system, made her lose weight and her muscles weak. The lesions came back and the cancer metastasized to her liver, lung and bones. Her tumor markers increased very rapidly and she needed something to reverse her system.

She found the Issels Treatment Center on the Internet and 2 weeks later, in August 2010, flew to Mexico to get treatments. She said of her stay at Issels: "It turns out that was a very, very good idea. I needed to stop the cancer and reverse that and after a month here I have no cancer on my lung anymore, my liver cancer (was) down, and (I'm) quite happy. The doctors here are wonderful. They really know what they're doing. They're caring. They treated me with respect. I had lots of information. Everybody here--the staff in general--are very helpful... We needed lots of support and it was always there. Lots of laughter, good food, good nutrition -- juices -- everything that we needed was here...the hospital is great. I'm sitting here a happy person."
